Our Leadership Team

Wayne R. Demmons, CEO
Wayne joined Betatronix as CEO in January of 2009 bringing over 25 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industries.

Prior to joining Betatronix, Wayne was VP, Aerospace & Defense for Leanovations, a consulting firm who coaches companies on operational excellence, where he served as a Lean Consultant in addition to fostering strategic partnerships while managing marketing and business development. Prior to this, Wayne successfully led an inertial products business in Cheshire, CT through three changes in ownership over a ten year span (AlliedSignal, Condor Pacific, BAE Systems and Atlantic Inertial Systems), driving steady year-over-year profitable growth. He has also held leadership positions with AlliedSignal in Teterboro, NJ as well as Lockheed Martin in Pittsfield, MA and Ametek (formerly General Electric) in Wilmington, MA.

Wayne graduated from Franklin Pierce College with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, is on the Board of Examiners for the Shingo Prize and is a member of the Board of Directors for Betatronix.

John A. Karcher, CFO
John joined Betatronix as CFO in December of 2008 bringing over 30 years of experience.

Prior to joining Betatronix, John was CFO at Multiline Technology, a leader in equipment manufacturing and precision machining. He was in charge of all financial reporting for U.S. and European operations including debt restructuring, real estate negotiations and business plan preparation.

John also held other senior financial management positions. As CFO at Bike Rack, a manufacturer and wholesale distributor, John was responsible for importing product and attaining financing, publishing budgets and forecasts, and managing inventory control and logistics for multi-warehouse locations. Earlier, John was VP of Finance and Administration for NEK Cable, a start-up manufacturer of wire and cable. There he spent several years handling all financial reporting, managing M&A’s, and implementing the company’s HR and MIS systems.

John holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from State University of New York.

Brian A. Rosengrant, Director of QA & Engineering
Brian joined Betatronix in February of 2011 bringing over 25 years of engineering and program management experience.

Prior to joining Betatronix, Brian was Engineering Manager at CVD Equipment Corporation, a manufacturer of customized equipment and process solutions.  There he led a transition from producing custom nanotechnology products to developing standardized products.  Prior to this, Brian was head of the engineering department at Circor Aerospace, where he refined the company’s engineering procedures and managed the product life cycle of sophisticated pneumatic valves, systems and motion switches.  As Program Manager at Telephonics Corporation and Bren-tronics, Inc., Brian managed contracts for military and commercial radar systems.  He also spent over 15 years in the Engineering departments at Symbol Technologies and Lockheed Martin Control Systems.

Brian earned his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Binghamton University and is a registered Professional Engineer and a certified Project Management Professional.

John V. Konior, Director of Business Development (Aerospace & Defense)
A twelve-year U.S. Air Force veteran, John joined Betatronix in June of 2010. In addition to his military experience, he brings over 15 years of sales and business development experience.

As USAF Program Manager during the 1991 Gulf War, John led technical teams in tactical air operations and obtained extensive skills in aircraft systems support. He was awarded numerous military awards and commendations.

Outside his military service, John has over 15 years of experience as a sales and business development professional working for software, IT and medical equipment companies. As Business Development Manager for Phillips Precision/Medicraft, John conducted competitive analysis, developed marketing plans and implemented a CRM process. As Regional Sales Manager for Made2Manage Systems, he was involved in sales lifecycle management activities. John also spent eight years at Visual Technology Group where he held management positions in training, customer relations and sales.

John earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Keith E. Sontag, Director of Programs

Keith joined Betatronix as a process engineer in May, 2008 bringing over ten years of engineering and sales experience. He has held multiple roles at Betatronix including Operations Manager and Program Manager before becoming Director of Programs in early January, 2012.
 

Prior to joining Betatronix, Keith was a Product Specialist at Janus Elevator Products, Inc., covering the Vandal-Proof Products line of emergency communications. He was in charge of production, sales, and the national network of sales representatives with major markets including transit systems and colleges & universities. Keith helped with the integration of both the Vandal-Proof Products and EMS product lines into Janus Elevator. He has also held engineering positions at Monitor Controls where he helped upgrade the CAD systems and automate design and at Mason Industries where he was involved in earthquake and wind protection for building systems.

Keith holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Binghamton University.
