Betatronix's principal product line is molded conductive plastic potentiometers.
The "heart" of these potentiometers is our unique, proprietary resistance
element. This has a "mirror-like" finish that enables us to produce
hi-rel products with long life, low noise and negligible degradation.
Our conductive plastic potentiometers vary in size from 3/8" to 5"
in diameter and have a normal operating temperature range of -55° C to +125°
C; however, with minor variations in the processing of the molded conductive element,
the range can be expanded to -65° C to +160° C. Product types include
single and multi-turn, linear and non-linear, rotary and translatory, element/wiper
assemblies, arc segment potentiometers, pendulum potentiometers, motor-pot assemblies,
switch-pot assemblies, gearhead-pot assemblies, spring returns, detents, high-strength
stops and controlled torque mechanisms.
Except for the multi-turn, all of these products are also available in potentiometers
with wirewound resistance elements and polymer-thick film elements. We continue
to manufacture the wirewound products primarily to serve customers who would be
without a source if we dropped the line. Film potentiometers are generally used
in high-volume, lower-cost applications where "dither life" is not an
important consideration.
Betatronix potentiometers are designed and tested to meet the requirements
of military potentiometer specifications MIL-R-39023 and MIL-R-12934.
